Views from 7000 ft.

Well, we're all moved in to the new place.

Moving is never fun, but this time it wasn't so bad, even though we were doing it mostly ourselves. Thankfully we had beautiful weather in the mid- to upper-50's all week. And thanks to friends that helped us load the truck and cook us delicious meals throughout the week, it all went pretty smoothly.

Friday was our first night here, and Saturday took us back to Chinle for a training ride with Julie out to the slickrock, on a mountain bike loop, and back home again. It was a great ride despite the high winds at times. It was definitely a workout riding on washboard dirt roads on a mountain bike uphill into the wind, but that's what we need...especially me! (After much wavering, I finally signed up for the Iron Horse Bike Classic... and I'm scared!)

We got back home to our new place in Tsaile, followed by a beautiful sunset, which we can enjoy from these new window views:

Dave & Julie, and our friend (& now neighbor), Jason, joined us here for dinner that D & J cooked for us. Sweet & Sour Pork Stir Fry (with Sriracha sauce!) Mmmm. Mmmm.

Then this morning brought snow! We are about 1400 ft. higher in elevation than Chinle, so despite the temps in the fifties lately, we were reminded about winter at 7000 feet. It snowed all morning, and now the skies are starting to clear and the sun is shining:
