Phil says...

Six more weeks of winter.

But the way winter's going here, I'll take it. We've had beautiful sunny skies and temps in the 50's. Perfect for bike riding...Julie and I took an awesome bike ride out to Spider Rock on Saturday.
It is a 21 mile uphill trip along the South rim of Canyon De Chelly to get to the overlook. We had a great lunch basking in the sun, then got back in the saddle to head home. Unfortunately issues with flat tires cut the ride home short, but we got about 30 miles in total. I haven't done much road biking, and what I have done is usually on my mountain bike=pain. This time, Ryan let me ride his new cyclo-cross bike (ie, road friendly) and what a difference! I was - almost - convinced by the ride that I should sign up to do the Iron Horse Bicycle Classic with Ryan and Julie, who've already registered. But I'm still pretty intimidated by the mileage, 10,000+ ft. elevation, multiple mountain passes between Durango and Silverton. But maybe. Maybe I can still be convinced. Just need to take advantage of these beautiful days to get outside, and hop on the new trainer otherwise.
Yesterday was also beautiful but quite windy. Ryan managed to get a ride in anyway, it was his birthday afterall! Then we hosted a partaaaayyyy. Too bad the Cardinals couldn't pull off a win (hey, I'm from Cleveland, I'm supposed to hate the Steelers). I actually didn't care that much who won, I just wanted a close game and that we got.
Now that the party's over, and move time is here, it's time to get back to packing! Countdown is on. We're taking loads all week long and doing the last (hopefully) big load of furniture on Friday.
