As you have already read in Patricia's previous posts, I am the proud new owner of not one but two bikes. The mountain bike was a long time coming as my old hardtail Trek was quiet broken down. After much shopping I decided on a
BMC fourstroke 02 full suspension, and it is one sweet rig! BMC is more of a road bike company but my
new favorite bike shop in Cortez turned me on to them and as of yet I have no regrets. I had my first spill while riding the slickrock behind our house tonight; no worries mom, rider and bike are doing fine. I do have a sweet spot in my heart for my old trek and will be working to rebuild so I can still take it out for a spin and some heart pounding climbs. And as I stated above, one bike purchase was simply not enough, the same day I bought the mountain bike I decided to purchase a
Specialized Tricross. Even though road riding is not my favorite I still wanted a bike that I could put some extended miles on. Julie has talked me into doing the Ironhorse classic from Durango to Silverton over memorial day so I needed I bike to ride as well as train for the event. I plan on riding the backroads across the rez and someday use it as my commuter (if I ever live anywhere that needs a commute!?). It has entry level components but for now that's all I need as off road mountain biking is still my favorite. So in conclusion no one can blame me for poor consumer spending, plus if it gets bad I'll just have to ride my bikes everywhere I go!
Way too many words without bullet points.......so.....
Current Ryan stats:
- I'm currently eating Mushroom and Green onion soup from the swap and it is delicious, I even added a few green chiles as I'm trying to clean up the thawed package we have in the fridge and I guess I love green chiles in almost everything.
- Thanks again Evan and Jillian for the delicious growler of steamworks beer, I'm just finishing the last of it in a plastic cup (were moving that's all the cups we have left!)
- Currently excited as pitchers and catchers report in less than two weeks for the baseball season to begin. We're going down to Phoeniz at the end of the month for spring training baseball, biking, relaxing, IKEA, and even a hockey game/
- I should get back to packing so the next time I blog it will be from a different local

- By the way the chalkboard might be my favorite item in our house, I think i could use chalkboard paint to cover entire walls in our new house!
- Thanks to all for your birthday wishes, it was a wonderful day (even getting called into the ER couldn't bring me down)
Hope everyone is well!
