Windows, doors, a birthday boy and walls!!!

A lot has happened in the last week, both with the house and with life!

The deck on the house got framed!
From below:
View from the door out onto it from the dining room. (There are just temporary plywood panels in place for now:)

And...we got windows! They were actually all installed last week, time's just flying and I can't keep up!
Windows installed in the basement:
Putting in one of the big ones - very carefully!

Putting on the other big one, as seen from inside:

All in!:

View of the East wall with windows and the deck:

Also, the doors have been installed (all but the front door which was waiting on a decision from us regarding the front porch).  Here's from inside the garage:

South facing wall with the double doors in (they'll get painted, won't be white):

And, the timber frame got its linseed oil finish put on:

We also had a birthday boy last week!!! Can't believe I haven't posted pics yet of my little guy turning three!!

We had a nice celebration on his birthday with the Julians, and he got to open his 'big' present from Ryan and me and my parents:
I was pretty excited to make the find for a good price from Craigslist - and he was even more excited to open it and loves playing with it. He has put out a lot of fires in the last week!

We also took a trip to Armadillo's for birthday ice cream - all together IN THE CAMPER! fun times.

Marlins present also inspired the cake and party hats for his birthday party the next day. (I must say I'm pretty proud of the cake and had a lot of fun decorating it!)

Thanks to Molly for this group shot: (I've yet to upload the pics on my actual camera.  [What's a camera, you say? You know, that thing I don't use anymore because my phone is handier....])

And....last but not least, the interior walls of our lower level have been framed, and the stairs have been built!

This has been a big step because now we can actually start to see in person the layout and dimensions that've been on paper and floating around in my head for so long. The space is really starting to take shape which is exciting!
