In other news...

I've been pretty caught up in the house as you can imagine since that's all most of my recent posts talk about. And Ryan's been busy with all his various employment endeavors these days.

But there is another kind of big, important thing happening in our lives that I really haven't blogged about.  (And I feel a little silly to realize that it's possible a couple of you quiet followers may not even know...) The tiny person growing inside of my belly is getting bigger all the time and will SOON be here! The October 6th due date is really sneaking up on us! Yes, I'm really almost 33 weeks along already.

(What?! When did that happen?!)

And if you hadn't heard, your next question is likely - is it a boy or girl? I actually have NO idea. We chose not to find out at the 20-wk ultrasound when it would have been easy to learn. And though I thought maybe one of the nurses gave it away at a different appointment, apparently I was wrong because it is not in my chart, and the only person that supposedly knows is the ultrasound tech.  Marlin seems to think it's a baby sister- from the first discussion with him about it, he called the baby a she and talks about sharing his toys with "her." But we keep reminding him that it could be a brother or a sister!

Yesterday, Ryan and I (reluctantly) attended a childbirth education class at the hospital. Even though we've been through it before, I was glad to learn about this specific hospital's protocols, the labor and delivery nurse' opinions and to see the facilities.

But it also made it a little more real all of a sudden - which is probably for the best since baby time is fast approaching! (I am NOT ready! And no, our house will NOT be done before baby comes. But that's okay. It just is what it is!)

Last weekend we took a trip to Pierre for a family wedding. It was fun to watch Marlin dancing and playing with his cousins all weekend.
He got to dance with the "white bride" AND the "green bride" (the bride's twin sister was maid-of-honor wearing green)!

Then on the way home from Pierre, we detoured to the ranch to experience a bit of harvest. Marlin (and I) got to ride in the combine and we also got some belly pics (finally) in the middle of a ripe wheat field!

Credits to Ryan for his photog skills:

(With a growing belly and surrounded by gluten! :) ~32 weeks here.)

Congratulations!! Carter called his sister's gender as soon as he knew we were pregnant, so Marlin's instincts may be right! :) Good luck with the birth and new baby. Hugs from NY! ~Mimi

Thanks, Mimi! We will see in October if Marlin's right or not! Did you guys find out before she was born? And how old is she now?! Can't believe how fast these kids grow! Also, did I see on your blog that you guys moved?
