Since my last post (get ready, this is a long one)...
+ We went to South Dakota. Since some of you may not have heard yet, it's official, we are planning to move to Rapid City next summer. It's sad to think about leaving here even though it's still 8 months away, but we are excited about having this view:

We were, of course, visiting family and we went to a wedding among other things, but we were also trying to do some planning for our pending move.
+ Marlin started walking. He could take a few steps prior to our trip, but while we were there he really took off. He was already getting into everything:

But now there's a whole new level of baby-proofing required:

He suddenly sees things on shelves and counters that he didn't before. He figured out that he can open drawers and reach in and pull everything out of them. And he climbs. He's actually fairly cautious, he thinks and takes his time climbing something new, but he's not afraid to do it. It took Marlin awhile to actually walk, but it's amazing how fast he went from wobbly cautious steps, to practically running! I've been trying, unsuccessfully, to post a video, but for now you'll just have to believe me. (I also blame technology for my lack of recent posts.)

+We went to Denver with my parents who flew in to South Dakota to spend some time there with us, and then drove home with us. In Denver, Marlin got to see his only living great grandparent, my Grandma. We also saw my aunts and uncles and some friends there.
+My dad and I hiked the Grand Canyon down to the Colorado River and back up! It was a bucket list item of his, my first time away from Marlin for more than a few hours, his first official backpacking trip, both of our first times all the way to the river, our first father-daughter trip in a looooong time (ever? Dad, am I forgetting something?!)...so it was quite a trip! We had great weather and the ol' man did great with the hiking (not that I expected anything less)!

+Some of our bestest friends ever, and especially our best friends and neighbors here in Tsaile, Dave and Julie moved away. :o(
They moved all the way to Alaska, and I am so sad that they no longer live right next door. But, ever the adventurers (yes, far more than us especially now that we have the little man), they are on to new frontiers and we look forward to when we can go visit them up north!
+Ryan did RAWROD with Aaron. That is, they Rode Around the White Rim in One Day....100 miles, dirt road, the White Rim in Canyonlands, outside of Moab. And they did awesome!

+Halloween! Marlin was a little turtle:

+Dia de Los Muertos! We've now accumulated quite an array of decorations, mainly the fun papel picado flags:

We enjoyed hosting a party last year, but life was a little crazy after all of our travel and the timing wasn't right. Nevertheless, we celebrated all of our loved ones with our own little altar, and have enjoyed this new tradition:

As if this post wasn't long enough, here's a few more random ones of Marlin. (I'm trying to make up for lost time, but only with the photos that I have available on this ipad; more photos soon hopefully!)
