He's really growing fast, learning lots of new skills. He can sit up by himself for quite a long time now, and he's readily rolling over both directions. There's been a few times I had him on the floor and was busy doing something, and when I turned back, he had rolled himself over a couple times and ended up a few feet from where he started. He is much more attentive to a wider range of things, and has really been noticing our dog Jack, who doesn't seem entirely crazy about the little guy yet...but that probably has to do with the fact that, when given the opportunity, Marlin "pets" Jack, which really means grabbing and tugging at any fur or ear he can get in an attempt to get it to his mouth! And as you saw in the last post, Marlin is eating some solids these days. So far it's just rice cereal and sweet potatoes, but he seems to love eating, and is quite good at it already. He even gets impatient if we take too long getting the next bite to his mouth. Hard to believe he's nearly six months old already.
Nana B. with Marlin:

Ho!ho!ho! Here he is in his Santa suit that Nana bought for him:
Fun with tissue paper:

Banging the high chair (an oldie but goody that started its life as Ryan's cousins in the fifties), ready for food, and sporting a bib all the way from China (!). Not that something made in China is uncommon around here...but this was specially sent from Aunt Maureen, who lives there! And it's a special Chinese style bib that even has leg stirrups to keep it down. Thanks Maureen!

Mama and Marlin reading a bedtime story - anyone remember the book Noisy Nora?! Thanks to Tia Liz for finding some classics at an antique market, that we read when growing up.

And looking adorable in a cute outfit from Aunt Phyllis and Uncle Chuck:

He does look cute and adorable!
Thanks for the shout out Patty! I'm glad the bib got there before he was too big! When I went to the post office in China to send it they said it was going to take maybe 2 months to reach you, and I thought he would be too big for it then. So Markus' mom took it back with her to Germany and sent it from there :) The bib has done some traveling before it got to Marlin :)
Love the pictures of Marlin! He IS growing up so fast. Enjoy every minute of these amazing milestones.
