Last night we hosted our fourth annual Soup Swap! You can read about our past events here, here and here (apparently I didn't blog about our November 2009 event)!
We had record numbers this year:
22 adults
15 kids (including:
5 infants - 6 months old or younger!)
76 quarts of soup
14 different types of soup
2 versions of a classic - Chicken Noodle
1 "Mystery Soup" - so mysterious!
The only problem with so many soups to choose from is that it meant we couldn't try them all!
We made Mulligatawny Soup, which prior to making last week, I had never even heard of - but it ended up being quite popular with our crowd - who knew?! One of the Chicken Noodle soups was called "Grandma's Chicken Noodle" soup, and the Grandma herself was there to tell us about it! We also had a soup that included some wild rice that was hand picked out of a lake in Minnesota.
Can't wait for a day when I don't feel like cooking, and can just pull out a quart of soup from the freezer for dinner!
(oh wait, today was already that day - we had some hearty Potato Bacon soup-mmmm)
