At the beginning of September, Julie had a day off, and we took the pups to do a little exploring near here. We hiked up to the tippy top of Black Pinnacle, a small peak near here that has a lookout station at the top, much like the one at Roof Butte. There was a guy on duty, who was friendly, and seemed to enjoy the company during an otherwise - um - quiet job. He showed us the monitoring equipment and map he uses to determine coordinates of fire or smoke or other noteworthy sightings. It was pretty neat, and it was a neat view of things from up there.
On our way back down, I was noticing various piles of garbage, not uncommon around here. Then I spotted the TV. I could imagine a couch sitting out there in the forest with it.

Wow, Patricia! This is really cool! It kind of looks like it could be in the opening credits of a scary movie, or a movie about people who live in the sticks. :-)
