Happy New Year

Happy New Year to all!

I have picked a lazy saturday to return to blogging after quiet a long hiatus. All credit goes to Patricia for carrying the blog for most of its existence. I don't really believe in new years resolutions but I have alas decided to make the effort to blog more in the new year. As some of you already know, the act of writing is not necessarily my favorite thing to do, it rates right down there with painting, building barbed wire fence, and watching TV shows like Entertainment tonight. Therefore I offer a disclaimer that I will not necessarily be paying attention to spelling, grammar and punctuation, it's the only way for me to actually get a blog done in a decent amount of time. Get ready folks for lots of pictures, bullet lists, and links to the written word that best sum up what I'm trying to get at.

Alas here is a bullet list of a few of the happenings of the day:
  • Patricia is in Flagstaff today picking up the Jeep at the autoshop (ouch repair bills!)
  • The morning started out as a nice 45 degree sunny high desert winter day, now it snowing and if I say so it is just as beautiful!
Remember there is no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing
  • I'm currently blogging to avoid writing Christmas thank yous, sorry to all of you they are on there way!
  • Itunes is currently playing "Haiti" by the Arcade Fire, I like it!
  • I'm am drinking Cafe Mam coffee; check it out it's good stuff!
  • The bike riding I was planning for this afternoon has been been postponed (see picture above), riding on slick rock is not fun in the snow. Here's a pic from last sundays ride out on the slickrock behind the hospital:
Thanks to my friend Jim for loaning me his spare bike while mine is out of commission.

I look forward to more posts this year, in fact I'm forecasting a banner year for the Ryan and Patricia blog:

Staye tuned for these and more in 2009:
  • Ryan's new mountian bike
  • ski trips to wolf creek and teluride
  • canoeing the green river in March
  • Ironhorse bike classic in May (Durango to Silverton; my lungs hurt already)
  • possible moutain bike racing in April,May,June
  • summer trips to silverton, chicago basin, and southern utah(my favorite!)
  • fall trips to South Dakota, Denver, Boston, and hopefully another grand canyon trip
All right I'm rambling but one quick Ryan stat before I sign off:
  • 56 days until the first Cleveland Indians spring training game!
