We're moving. (yes, again!)
This time we're headed just 30 miles down the road to a little junction (can I even call it a town?) called Tsaile (pr. say-lee).

Somehow in our time out here, various acquantainces, even family members seem to think that we live in New Mexico. Well, Tsaile is a mere 10 miles as the raven flies from the New Mexico border, but no, it is still in Arizona. It's at the base of the beautiful Chuska Mountains, as seen here and here, and one of our favorite spots here; with views towards Lukachukai and Tsaile Butte. It's only 30 miles away, but it's about 1000 feet higher in elevation, and as you can see from the pictures, much more forested and mountainous, less dusty expanse than Chinle. This also means colder and snowier! Somehow Ryan's convinced me to move there in the middle of winter despite the weather, but that Arizona sun still shines year round.
Ryan will be running the optometry department at the Tsaile Health Center,
which he is quite looking forward to. He's got an office with a big window looking out to the mountains, two great staff and his commute will now be about 3 minutes walking distance instead of 8. I'll still keep busy with a little lifeguarding and babysitting in Chinle. And I'm hoping to get involved at Dine College, whose main campus is located in Tsaile. In fact, I've already started taking a class there for fun! (more on that in its own post!)Also, we plan to frequent Chinle to hang out with friends, go to potlucks, and even for groceries, because Tsaile is that small. There's one gas station
for basics like milk and eggs, but even the "Tsaile Trading Post" shut down some years back, disregard the sign for it that still stands. Now that I've wasted too much time on this, I better get to packing!!!

I'm trying to be happy you're moving down the road and not states away..... but I'm still sooooooooo sad you won't be 2 minutes away :o( Congrats on the job and the move (we're jealous).
Wow, good luck with the move! I'm glad you guys are there and not me, I don't think I could live with my favorite bus that stops 2 mins. from my house that takes me to the train station in 4 minutes, from where I can get to Berlin on a 5.5 hour direct train. :)
