Travels. Travels.
Everybody keeps saying, "do it now, while you're young." So we are. (Although we also hope that getting old or having kids, or "being tied down" won't stop us. We're trying to avoid that whole 'tied down' thing.)
California was great (well except for our tire that blew out while I was driving down the interstate coming into LA). While Ryan was busy with his conference, I did some exploring on my own, including some shopping at fun vintage stores in downtown Fullerton, driving all the way across town to a Gluten-Free Bakery (!!!) in Culver City where I enjoyed a delicious egg salad sandwich on focaccia (yes, g-free focaccia!) and purchased other delicious goodies like bagels and muffins and cookies. I also drove around sections of Hollywood, Beverly Hills and sat in traffic (Rolls Royce here, Lamborghini there) down parts of Sunset Blvd, where I didn't particularly have any star sightings, but did see some sort of photo shoot taking place.
I went to the original LA Farmers Market which to my dismay, did not actually have a whole lot of delicious CA grown produce, but was a great place to people watch and eavesdrop, like on the guy at a table next to me who was sharing a portfolio of head shots, or the stack of books on someone else's table topped with one titled Making it in Hollywood.
Although calling him a star is a stretch, I am about 95% sure that I saw Constantine Maroulis. (Don't ask why I knew who he was, but if it makes you feel any better, I had to think for awhile to place him, and I certainly didn't know his name until I looked it up).
Besides all that, I also had a couple of great days at the beach with Maurie and her kids! And Ryan and I made it to an Angels' game, as well as a Cal State Fullerton baseball game, which was just a walk away from the hotel.

Constantine is a star in my eyes. Seeing him would have made my day/trip. I've flown to NYC to see him in a Broadway and an off Broadway show in the past. In fact, I will be flying north in a couple of weeks to see him play Judas in Jesus Christ Superstar.
missy is that you being funny? ...rob, is that you...being serious? or do i really have an anonymous admirer of Constantine visiting my blog? ha, that's great! welcome.
(if so, i guess all you have to do to get new miscellaneous readers is drop the name of an American Idol finalist and your blog will pop up in search engines?)
Wow, I'm SO envious of you, my anonymous reader. Why doesn't Jesus Christ Superstar come to Chinle?
Patricia,
Confan are worse than Claymates. Beware. A huge herd of fanfrau will most likely drop in here and leave tons of posts telling you what a big star Constantine is.
