well half of January and all of February have gone by without news from me. I even had an extra day in February, and
five special people to give a birthday holla' to (happy belated to Missy-Jan 22nd, Julie-Jan26th, Ryan-Feb 1st, niece Abigail-Feb 15th, and Liz-Feb 19th, and any of you others I may have missed!)...but alas.
Life happened. Blog didn't.
But here I am again. A special apology and welcome back to my loyal blog readers/daily blog checkers. We meet again at this cyber hang-out to procrastinate and commentate.
A lot has happened obviously since my last post...
- Great visit by Rosemary and Don. Lots of relaxing, exploring, card game playing...and muddy off-road going
- a clothes swap! friend Julie hosted, several local ladies came bearing bags of rejects from the closet, and we all dug in! fun times.
- Several ski trips with friends to take advantage of record snow falls at some great ski resorts in southern Colorado: two to Durango, one to Telluride and a great weekend in Pagosa Springs/Wolf Creek (and a little snowshoeing along with the skiing...we're hooked)
- I started a garden (indoors)! Julie and I had a Garden Project Day and built lettuce boxes for homegrown green goodness, and started some seeds in mini newspaper seed pots to be transplanted outside come spring (sunflowers, carrots, peppers). And, by golly, i am seeing sprouts!
- I've been hanging out with my new friend Jerry, 16 mo. old son of friend/neighbor & Ryan's co-worker Val. He and I get together when his parents are busy and I get a little extra cash, and an occasional fresh egg from their chickens! (they also have 2 goats)
- A quick visit by Ryan's Uncle Tom and Aunt Judy (from Fairbanks, AK) at the end of January and Aunt Joyce and friend just last Friday. We love having guests. Come on by.
- Lots of drama (as seems to be common around here) related to the Aquatic Center, and as a result, I am finally starting to lifeguard as of this past week.
...oh yeah! and Jack! our puppy is not as much puppy anymore, but still rather little, and lots of fun! He even got his picture on
this website (unfortunately it didn't win him $200 towards more toys). Check out Cowboy too
here (I thought for sure this great shot captured by Ryan might win us some dough, but no.)

Thanks for the birthday wishes! It is nice to see a new post, it looks like you guys have been doing all kinds of fun things.
Also - I think it is an outrage the Cowboy picture didn't win.
And - I am jealous of the indoor garden.
