Maybe you've seen those "recordable" books? You can have someone record their voice reading each page, and as you turn the pages, light activates each page to play the recording back.
Well, we have three books like that, one of my parents reading a book to Marlin, and one each of Grandpa Don and Grandma Rosemary reading to him.
Yesterday, Marlin and I were playing in his bedroom, where he has pulled several books down off of the shelf. [Mama did not clean them up before putting Marlin to bed last night, so they are still scattered on the floor!] One of them is the recordable book from Grandma Rosemary, called, "The Very First Christmas," about Baby Jesus being born, and I guess it was open.
This morning at first light, I woke up to Rosemary's voice coming from Marlin's room saying,
"The animals gathered, each eager to see
who this new little baby could possibly be.
The cow shared her hay, the sheep gave her fleece,
and the cat purred a song of heavenly peace."
-----------
One year ago this morning, shortly after the break of dawn, Marlin joined this world, and I feel so thankful for my beautiful baby boy, still sleeping peacefully in his crib.
Happy First Birthday, son. I love you!
