Maybe you've heard about the Solar Eclipse that just happened? Well, we were lucky to be right down the middle of the viewing path of the Annular Solar Eclipse. Not to be confused with annual, this kind of eclipse
doesn't happen that often and is referred to as annular, because the
sun appears as a ring, as the new moon, which appears smaller, aligns
with the sun.
We were rushing through dinner when we
noticed the light outside seemed a little different, so we hurried
outside with some eclipse glasses a friend had given us, and sure
enough, the moon was already passing across the sun!
It
was pretty neat to see, and I managed to capture some of it on camera,
once I figured out that I had to put the glasses in front of the lens! I
didn't quite have the equipment or know-how to get the best pictures,
but I was pretty happy with what i managed to capture:
