7 Months Old

Marlin is 7 months old today!  He really loves "walking" with our help and being upright...he gets so frustrated on his tummy that he can't get to things out of reach, but soon he'll figure out the crawling.  Just today, he has really started using actual syllables as though he's suddenly figured it out.  As in "Ma, ba, wah, da..." He's made those sounds before but it always seems like it was on accident. 


We've had some fun weekend excursions recently.  Most recently, we went to Grants and Albuquerque, NM.  Last year, Ryan was part of a team that raced in the Mount Taylor Quadrathlon.  This year it was my turn, so Julie and I got a team of ladies together for an all female team!  I did the bike portion (26 miles total, split into two legs) and Julie ran (10 hard miles!), with Courtney and Allison doing the ski and snowshoe portions.  Thanks to Allison's idea from a prior event, and in reference to us each feeling out of shape, we named ourselves Team Drag'n Ass, and we each had a little dragon attached to our backside.  Basically, we just wanted to have fun with it and enjoy the race.

We did just that....and we also got First Place for Women's Teams!!!  I admit, there were only two female teams, but we ended up with really great times, and came in at under 5 hours...putting us in 6th overall of 32 teams!  Thankfully we had great weather and it was a really fun day.  Ryan, Marlin, Dave, & Sarah were an awesome support team.   We even won some fancy bling for our first place finish:
