Dave and Julie brought home three more chickens a couple weeks ago - 2 Wyandottes, and 1 Black Astralorp (like Jive, purportedly good layers), all three of them now about 2 1/2 months old. Since they've been here, all six of the chickens have shown us where phrases like "pecking order" and "rule the roost" come from. By now the pecking order has been established and the little ones stick together and steer clear of the other three. It's quite entertaining to watch, if they want to get past the big ones to food or something, they all start out hesitant and then one by one make a run for it!
