you can see in the previous post that we have lots of gorgeous hollyhocks, thanks to no work of our own. these flowers, as well as the bright red chile ristras really attract hummingbirds these days. but nothing instills jealousy and hostility in a hummingbird quite like a readily accessible container of sugar water.
