guess what?!
we got another dog! well, he's still a puppy. You may think he resembles Cowboy; but that's not why we got him--we could never replace Cowboy!

We got him because he needed a good home. Some nurses here had picked him up but couldn't keep him, because they're only here for the short-term. I went to meet the pup to see if we wanted to take him and came home to report to Ryan. He wasn't so sure; so I convinced him to come have a look himself. Ryan saw him and was sold. We picked him up from his very friendly foster mom this morning and took him for a hike to the Canyon this afternoon.

He's still exploring his new home and he's very well behaved. He makes it clear when he needs to go out, which we're very glad about, because we weren't planning to get a puppy that we'd have to potty train.
You've noticed I keep saying "He." We haven't decided for sure on a name yet; and we're looking for suggestions. The two we've come up with that we like the best are Jack or Rocky. What's your vote? Any other suggestions after seeing his adorable face?

He is so cute! I have to say I prefer Rocky to Jack, because I think Jack is more of a person name. I am also partial to Sprinkles. He looks like he is already having fun with his new owners! Just kidding about Sprinkles, by the way.
First - SO sorry to hear of all the troubles last week, and SO glad that things are moving in the right direction, health-wise!
Second - I LIKE the name Jack for a dog. It seems to me there is a famous story or song or movie or something that includes a dog named Jack - maybe more than one - hmm, did the Ingalls family have a dog named Jack, in the Little House on the Prairie series? I'm thinkin', maybe.............
He is beeeautiful!!
I like Jack, but I'm also thinking something that has to do with where you all are - maybe Chaco is too easy?
But, I also like Oscar or Frank or Sam - yeah, I really like Oscar.
much love!

Missy-
Ryan was the one that came up with Rocky, but we decided he didn't seem like a Rocky...
Aunt Anita-
You're good...It IS Little House on the Prairie that their dog is named Jack! ...
and Megan-
We also went through all kinds of place names, and when we weren't one hundred percent sure about Jack, we came up with Chuska (the name of the mountain range near here), but it didn't seem to fit him either. I had also thought of Chaco, but Julie and Dave's dog is named Saco (after a river out East; rhymes with Chaco) and it seemed too similar. So...
Jack it is! That's his name and I'm stickin' to it.
Shoot... I am late on my suggestion... it seems you have already decided on his name.. I was going to suggest 'Ruddy' or 'Rudi'. You just saw that guy Xavier Rudd play, and ruddy sounds like rustical and a bit like rocky.
