guarding of the lives

Alright, it's official. I'm a lifeguard. Well, I haven't officially guarded any lives yet, but I'm certified to. The aquatic center here (yeah, who would've thought? no hardware store, but an aquatic center! fine with me) needed more lifeguards (the two they had wasn't cutting it), so they've been training me and a few others. Due to the unnecessarily involved application process through the school system, I may not start working for a few weeks, but I'm excited. I now know first aid, CPR and how to use an Automated External Defibrillator. Good to know.

Since I have no fun pictures related to lifeguarding, but a post without a picture is boring, here's something random:
wild turkey tracks from our trek into the Chuska mountains
near here to get our Christmas tree a couple weeks ago!

Merry Christmas!

:) haha, that's a good thought. You know, we haven't heard from them in awhile. Maybe they'll start travelling again soon.
