Nonetheless, ceiling delays, coupled with a few other typical construction delays including some ill-timed thunderstorms, had us very eager to get the roof on so all that rain (and hail) would stop pouring into our house! Luckily things dry out quickly here, otherwise I'd really be worried about trapped moisture.
Finally today, the last roof panel got set. The garage roof still needs a little work; and nothing's fully waterproofed yet but it's a lot better than it was. Pictures to catch you up to today:
The garage:
Where the woodstove/hearth is going to go:
The pine ceiling (square cut; no V-groove!) getting installed:
During one of the rainstorms that funneled lots of water right into the house along the walls (just had to remind myself that there was no point worrying about it -it's just "construction moisture" as our builder calls it [as if calling it that means it can do no harm!]):
The clerestory walls are in place:
And from today- all the SIP panels in place:
Some cool patterns from where the garage still needs sheathing:

Lastly, I'll leave you with one of those cool but fleeting moments that happen during construction (like a naked timber frame). Once the pine ceiling was on, but before the roof was on top of it, my eye caught sight of some of the knots in the wood. Where there were large knots, which apparently are translucent, they glowed almost neon red as the sun poured through!
As usual, the camera doesn't do it much justice, but it was a cool effect to have all these glowing reddish spots dotting our ceiling:
