A week ago we got back from his first big trip. He was a trooper in the car, thankfully sleeping most of the way.

And he still slept great once we got there, here is happily napping with Dad:

We drove to Denver for him to meet his great grandma, and some of my aunts and uncles.

Then we went on to South Dakota and spent time with some of Ryan's family. Here he's hanging out on the couch, meeting Grandpa Don for the first time.

We had a great week, visiting with family, and doing some planning for the house we hope to build someday on our land near Rapid City. It was a busy week but a nice trip.
Then on the way home, we picked up my mom and drove through some amazing fall scenery throughout Colorado. Marlin has been quite content to have his Nana here:

We've had a nice week, and thanks to her, a few things around the house have finally been done that I hadn't gotten to. Unfortunately she's headed home tomorrow, but we're glad she was able to see Marlin again, since he's changing so fast!
He's become quite the chubby baby but I'm loving this stage and (as every parent is sure of) he is the CUTEST, I must admit!
He's "talking" a lot more these days. He is a very proficient thumb sucker. He manages to hold his head up for longer periods; he bats at things and shows some attempts to reach deliberately for them. He grins and grins, and is coming close to laughing, but hasn't yet.

[I hadn't gotten to posting this yet, because I was hoping to get caught up on pictures from our travels. But these will have to do for now.]

WONDERFUL photos! He is so sweet - so cute. How great that he's a good traveler. It was nice to see the picture of him with Great-Grandma Bell. So glad Nana could come for a visit - he's changing so fast right now, I'm sure she doesn't want to miss a thing! Hugs to everybody.
