Final countdown to our big bike ride: The Iron Horse Bicycle Classic, from Durango to Silverton, CO.
50 miles. 3 major climbs. 2 mountain passes over 10,000 ft. 6,650 ft. of total ascent. (and apparently lots of rain, even snow at the passes...yikes!)
57 days too many since my last blog post.
8 weekends since my last blog post. 8 weekends away from home:
1 great visit from the Bells and Alican (turkish exchange student), including visits to Bryce and Zion National Park, where Dad and I made it up to Angel's Landing!
1 awesome trip to...Costa Rica with Liz and friends!!!
1 fun visit to Phoenix with the Julians to celebrate Rob's 40th
2 weekends in Sedona for Water Safety Instructor training (so I can teach swim lessons this summer)
1 day trip to Phil's World singletrack trail near Cortez, CO for a test run of the trail before our 1st bike race ever:
1 weekend camping and riding in Cortez for the 12 Hours of Mesa Verde mountain bike race!
1 visit by Rosemary that included a stay at the new View Hotel overlooking the mittens of Monument Valley and a trip to Telluride/Rico, CO.
...and lots of biking in between to prepare for tomorrow! wish us luck and send the sun gods our way so I don't get hypothermia on the way!!!
